Day 2 – London

1 May

It wasn’t too rainy this day, which was good because we did a ton of walking.  It was pretty cold though, and windy towards the end of the day. We’re having an awesome time!

Our first stop of the day was Portobello Road.

The market, while very picturesque, was also where we met the man we call “Height of Rudeness” (his words).  He had kind of a hissy fit when he saw Adrien taking pictures of his books.  He was pretty much the joke of the day.  Well here are pictures of his books.  Take that, Height of Rudeness.

Adrien and I did get a few antique engravings from an antique map and print shop, though.  After that we had lunch in a crypt.

Then we went over to Trafalgar Square.  I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sit on a lion, even though I definitely embarrassed Adrien and Shannon.  =)

After that we walked over to the Houses of Parliament and saw Big Ben.  We were pretty excited about seeing all these things we’d read about and seen in dozens of movies!

Big Behhhn!

After listening to Big Ben and getting some hot chocolate, we took the tube over to Covent Garden.

Lastly we went to Camden Town.

We got crepes!

We were supposed to see a show there, but we realized there was no way we were going to make it to a show that didn’t start till at least 10, so Shannon and Adrien headed home early and took some pictures on Tower Bridge.

Not long after they left, Mom and I went to the National Gallery before going home ourselves.

Here are outfit details from that day:
